    It would be an idea to do this. I don't know if it would be a very
    successful one, but I'll talk with Jody about it.

    Gnumeric's properties dialog is a (poor) clone of the MSWord/EXcel
    dialog and only supports a subset of the MSWord/Excel properties. I've
    just made our dialog tabbed & pretty :) Since I was able to map MSWord's
    properties back to the Dublin Core set pretty easily, I imagine that
    Gnumeric will be able to too (since they are the same set of props...).
    At minimum, we should share the same dialog. As for representation in
    the file format, well, that is another story and not all that important.
