I'll ask again, please stop putting words in my mouth.

What if I forgot that date? I'd look it up or I'd ask uwog.

Look, if you want me to send a special html flash javascript pgp-signed
gift-wrapped mail to the list next time I make a branch, I've already
said that I've no problem with that. I don't see where this
conversation is going.

Alright, allow me to clarify, that was what's called a rhetorical
question, because the maker thereof expects that it's generally
understood what the answer is, in this case "No, I am not joking." If
you disagree with me that's one thing, if you want to counter a point I
make that's another, but neither gives you the right to accuse me of not
offering any "serious alternative".

First off, fear in my book does not count as a technical reason, that
sounds like nothing but ludditry to me. Second, the ONLY problem we've
had with that branch was the result of human error, and not mine.
Having a program written down as a reference made sure that it could be
corrected and avoided in the future. Third, diff review doesn't make
any sense for LOC that have naught to do with the changes being made in
branch, unless you want uwog never to have a single moment of time with
which to actually make changes, and when relevant changes are made,
that's precisely what happens, cvs aborts, uwog reconciles the diff, and
finishes the sync manually.

I already said that it wouldn't happen again, I can't travel back in
time for you, so I think it's about time to get over that fact.

All symbolic tags, as explained in the manual, are interpretted
according to usage. That is, whether it was requested a date along a
branch, the greatest common ancestor, or the default - the current state
of the branch.

I try to make it a point not to confuse a minor professional
disagreement with personal hatred, I can only wish you'd do the same.
If you don't like that I don't mince words, that's too bad, because it's
what many people appreciate about me and I'm not willing to change that,
but I should think you'd still be able to discern a disagreement about
process from anything more fundamental. After all, as I said on irc,
we're all still working toward the same goal (that is,
AbiWorldDomination).

I have never pretended to be, nor have I ever turned down the
opportunity to "talk about it to see what is the best". I approach
these discussions with rational and technically-founded points of
discussion with that very intent. However, I can speak for noone but
myself. If my points of discussion are not countered at their premise
but instead barraged with emotional, vague, and often irrelevant
notions, all I can do is sit back and watch.
