I have the misfortune of using badly locked down university machines that
allow you to install to scratch space but not to modify the registry so
therefore registry settings are unreliable.
If I use the University machines I can never use any of the shared GTK
based programs (without rather nasty hacks) because the registry settings
get lost. Although I realise my situation as a horribly twisted one I
would still like to be able to use the glib plugins without needing to
resort to nasty hacks.

If you can inlcude glib in the installer and leave it out if a shared GTK
is found or otherwise just install a seperate copy of glib just for
Abiword that is what would suit best for me. the less questions I have to
answer the better, perhaps a tickbox for "use shared GTK/Glib if
available"?
