    Hello, AbiFriends!

I realize that graphics, themes, and icons are a sore subject here on
the mailing list, but I had a personal itch that I think will become
increasingly shared among Windows users, so I scratched it. The current
Windows Abi builds use a 16 and 32 px square icon of a simple rendition
of the ant on a simple white page as the logo. In newer versions of
Windows, a 48 pixel square icon is becoming increasingly used, and the
32 px icon we have does not scale well. In Windows XP, additionally,
document icons have adopted a bit of a 3d-ish gradient. In response to
these new occurrances (and as a result of some free time), I created a
Windows-XP themed set of document-only (not Application) icons, in the
16, 32, and new 48 pixel size. They (IMHO) look fairly well matched
when compared to official Microsoft icons, and I hope, make AbiWord look
a bit more "matched" and professional on Windows.

They are available on my "Everything AbiWord" page,
http://www.ryand.net/oss/abi/ , as both PNG's (for preview) and as a
tar-bzipped2 package of icons in Windows ICO format. I do not know what
changes would need to be made to the source in order to build in the 48
pixel icons, however, I believe it would be worthwhile.

    Thanks for your consideration!

    Ryan
