Martin has previous mentioned his interest in having previews that display
the first few lines of content in a document.
It isn't something I'd find particularly useful but I recall that Martin
said he always puts a title at the top of each of his documents.

AbiCommand and Dashboard functionality was in part intended to enable
document thumbnailing)

I'm still not convinced that Thumbnails (at least the version of
thumbnails described) will be all that useful but perhaps when you have a
working implementation you will be able to go from there.

(All I did was to Google for Abiword Thumbnails to turn up this
information.)
