Hi Folks,
That we've branched for 2.6 I thought we should start and
hopefuly finish the debate about adding extra dependencies to
the main build for windows and osx.
If we use glib and libgsf we can considerable functionality. Notabally:
1. All the cool, well-maintained functions and code in glib. I'm
particularly intereste in using gquarks for various text needs (ignoring
grammatical errors and auto-complete)
2. network transparency for file-open/save (from libgsf)
3. Using wv HEAD (libgsf)
4. The potential to include the odt filters in the main build.
Against this is the extra hassle of the build and distribution problems of
distributing glib and libgsf, particularly the issue of detecting if these
libs are already present on a users system and if they are making sure
they're right versions.
What do people think?
Cheers
Martin
