Smart apostrophes support

Hi all, and thanks for your great work in Abiword!

I've followed this list for a while, and I know Smart quotes support is
coming in 2.8. That's really an important feature to my eyes, and while
it's a detail, I consider it as a blocker for me switching to Abiword.

I'm wondering whether this code could be easily extended to transform
straight apostrophes ' to better-looking single quotes ’ , as
recommended in Unicode. These are:
U+0027 APOSTROPHE
U+2019 RIGHT SINGLE QUOTATION MARK

If that's relatively easy to do, I'd like to have a look at it. But I'm
not familiar with Abiword codebase, so I'd need some hints.
