Hi,
I just installed the Maemo 4.1 (Diablo) SDK on my laptop in order to
bring AbiWord 2.7 back to shape and try to fix most of the bugs.
Here is an outline of the problems / plans:
1. fix configure:
I need to be able to use Gtk+2.10. I also need to be able to specify a
"flavour" if Gtk. Plain vs Hildon/Maemo
Some of this is partially done, but also broken. I will reorg the
configure and add a few macros or preprocessor symbol to make this easy.
2. fix the build
One of the thing that requires Gtk 2.12 is tooltips. Good thing that
Maemo is a touch screen: I will disable them. I don't think it make sense.
There are also a pletora or warning and such. Will fix as well. I build
the same tree on plain Linux and Maemo, so I will ensure I don't break
things
3. Fix the outstanding bugs. Cf Bugzilla
4. Work on revamping the UI a little: there are a few changes that will
need to be performed in order to be more usable on embedded platform. I
plan to make this an option for regular Gtk as my Netbook for example
has the same screen estate in Pixels as my N800.
The wiki page for how to build is being written here.
