Unfortunately, there is no Gr key on my US keyboard. I will have to look
at keymap to find its equivalent. However, I still think it would be
better to standardize on the well-known Linux "compose" technique. That
will give a number of other useful characters such as the British pound
and the Euro and also allows construction of diacritical marks on
keyboards not equipped with Alt Gr.
IMHO, the Alt Gr technique has very little mnemonic value whereas Rt
Ctrl y, e, and l do indicate the nature of the characters produced.
