I guess I must have missed it! I did not realize that Abiword was
destined for Win98 etc. as well as Linux.
In W98, you have the Windows extended character set available. For
example, è, e grave is given by holding down the ALT key and typing 0232
on the number pad. The whole table is usually available in Word manuals.
It's a nuisance to look up and the vodes have no mnemonic value but it
is there. Microsoft is ahead of Linux in one respect; it does have the
euro symbol.
