I have a Multi_key defined using xmodmap (I'm using the otherwise-useless
Menu key on a "Windows 95 enabled" keyboard), but I'm unable to make the
compose character function work properly. The only place I get any
special characters at all is in AbiWord, and even there I'm only able to
get the following six characters: áéíóúà
(Note: These six are typed in AbiWord and pasted in.)
What's more, whether it works in AbiWord seems to be critically dependent
upon how fast I type. If I wait about 0.6 to 0.75 seconds between typing
(for example) the ' and e, then about 80% of the time I get an é. If I
type faster or slower, I usually won't get it at all, I'll get 'e, and
I'll have to backspace and try again.
Can anyone offer any advice on making this feature work more usefully?
