Yes that is a significant and known problem
it is mentioned in Bugzilla under "slurp" or something, it used to work
badly, currently it never works. whatever the bug is called i changed to
a v1 blocker and upped the severity last week.
And no the debug build should not be released, that is a definate
mistake.
if you want you can work around it by copying mscvrt.dll to mscvrtd.dll
but it should be replaced with a proper release build as soon as possilbe.
