If it doesn't work on a fresh merge using the ebuild that is in portage,
file a detailed bug report including very explicit instructions on how
to reproduce and a document that crashes it at
http://bugzilla.abisource.com.
Since that ebuild inherits the debug eclass (as silly as that is), you
can also run abiword from a debugger to look for the cause of the crash
and provide that information as well (a backtrace or reference log or
whatever).
