Bug 5578 documents a problem like this under Win98, and I think there's
more to it than buggy printer drivers. I find differences between the
screen displays and the printer, although not to the extent reported
here, i.e. 25%. Wordpad exhibits similar behaviour, so the problem may
be buried deeper in the Windows system. I posted some comments

With the greatest of respect to the Abiword team, who deserve thanks
from all of us for a superd effort, a response to the "many other
queries" which tells Win98 users to install ghostview and use a
two-stage printing procedure is not likely to be well received!

I do hope to figure out how to build Abiword and perhaps contribute to a
solution.
