There are many of us who need to provide filled-in forms to regulatory
agencies and governments. They are, unfortunately, stuck in the Microsoft
world and they produce pdf forms that cannot be filled in on the screen.

I do have a couple of fillable forms, however. That's really nice except
that it is not possible to save the filled-in form. I can only print it. If
I need more copies in the future I need to fill in the silly thing again.

And, bureaucrats being bureaucrats, they require that their forms be used
even if the same information can be provided in an equivalent format by a
word processor. I've been dealing with this nonsense for a decade but I
cannot justify the very large cost of purchasing a Solaris version of
acrobat -- the full version -- so I can work with the forms here on our
    linux boxes.
