building abiword-1.9.1 on RedHat-9 - can you help?

    I have problems with fribidi. Aby help is much appreciated.
    Running ./configure I get the following:

    .....
    checking for curl/curl.h... yes
    checking for curl_global_init in -lcurl... yes
    checking for fribidi >= 0.10.4... Package fribidi was not found in the pkg-config search path.
    Perhaps you should add the directory containing `fribidi.pc'
    to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
    No package 'fribidi' found

    fribidi sources can be downloaded from SourceForge

            http://sourceforge.net/projects/fribidi

    Note: Don't use the fribidi source which is sometimes
          included with AbiWord since that version is for
          Windows only.
