The developers usually fix things by looking at bugzilla first and after
fixing they will usually close the bug report so you can reasonably assume
you will automatically be emailed by bugzilla if it gets fixed.
I guess it is no harm to remind developers that you think this is
particularly important and perhaps it will encourage one of them to push
it up their priority list.

By my reckoning it is the fifth highest voted bug report
I was going to suggest you try the Gnome build of Abiword with Gnome-Print
enabled, but the bug report mentions a bug report requesting this feature
in Gnome Print. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=110222
