A compromise/workaround at the development level that
occurs to me as perhaps quicker/easier to implement,
pending the real fix, would be to make Open, Save, and
Print able to do (perhaps in/from separate windows) a
whole list of documents instead of just one. That
would make the user-level separate-documents
workaround suggested less of a hassle. The list could
be itself a .abw doc and thus easy to maintain. And
there might even be some other, more general use for
such a feature.
