1/ I personnaly have never heard of Mepis, so do other people here
2/ we don't officially package AbiWord for Linux, just provide some at
people conveniance. For example; we never provide Debian package,
because Debian maintainer do it almost automatically.

So in that case I suggest that either try building it, or request the
distribution maintainer to package it.
That is all we can do.
