In ideal world crashes should never happen but in practice they happen a
whole hell of a lot.

Another major problem here is that Abiword doesn't really support HTML
(and the developers try to make this clear every so often) Abiword only
properly supports XHTML so in most cases you will need to run your HTML
through a program like Tidy or the W3C validotor before abiword will
import it sucessfully.

That said you should probably file a bug report about the crash, Abiword
should probably throw an error or import the html as text rather than
crashing.
