Thanks for the reply. When I install it again, I'll give that a try. I also found a short cut, which is just to drag and drop the saved file over to the Abiword icon, which opens it as well.
However, another problem has come up, which may be a bug. I've had this problem in Word before as well, but it always seems to fix itself after a while and I never know exactly what happened. The problem is that when some letters follow other specific letters in the text, Abiword leaves an extra space, making the word look terrible and the spell checker marks it.
I was trying to write the word "perceive", and the 'e' following the 'v' at the end was two spaces from the 'e'. B following v does the same thing, but, say k, is perfectly alright. Some other word combinations have the same effect, and others don't. Any ideas on this one?
