    I don't think it was versions as much as my current version of Microsoft
    Word was having problems, so Abiword became appealing. I found my Word CD
    (which is necessary to update Word) and updated it. This solved the Abiword
    to Word problem, but Abiword can't open my Word 2000 files without
    crashing, and this was not fixed by update. I'm waiting for the 2.0.4
    Windows binaries to be ready, because that may fix the problem.
