Yeah, but this problem is ... how should I say... bogus. How could anyone
help with such a problem - this program isn't beta anymore and it shouldn't
have bugs like this. So problems of this kind don't come up anymore. I find
it rather funny and abnormal if AbiWord simply crashes all the time on my PC.
I wasn't that serious when I said that.

Too bad I only tested with two or three files. And those were rather big.
The very first time a DOS prompt window popped up and displayed something
like: "won't mmap that file..." and lots of other stuff. Unfortunately that
was the only time I saw that window. I was trying to open some .DOC file
which caused the usual crash, then tried an .SXW file I had previously
created with OpenOffice and it crashed, too.
Maybe I'll download 2.0.3 again (or 2.0.4 when it's released) and try with
a couple of .ABWs.
2.0.2 is now working just fine. I can even open the monstrous .DOC which we
use at our school: some kind of guide for studies which is 2.41 megs and
made for Office XP. Very kind for us Win98/Word97 users.

Bamse
