Correct, they are not included and there is no immediate plans
to ever include them. However, if you have an internet
connection during the installation, the very first item under
the 'Glib/GSF based I/E importer and exporter plugins'
heading is 'download glib 2.2' and is the recommended way to
obtain the necessary DLLs if you use any of the plugins
    within that section.

However, I realize not everyone has access to the internet
during installation, (or perhaps just a slow dialup connection)
so you can also get just Glib and its supporting DLLs from
    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/abiword/glib-2.2.3.tgz?download
After you install AbiWord (before or after you install the
GIE plugins, but before trying to use them) simply unzip into
    the AbiSuite/AbiWord/bin/ subdirectory.

Presently these are the same binaries (extracted) from archives
    at http://www.gimp.org/~tml/gimp/win32/

If you want a full GTK, then I forgot the URL, but I ran across
another site with a good installer.

If you use other Glib 2.2 and/or GTK programs on Win32, then you
can share the DLLs, though at present we don't support this.
If anyone wants to provide the information necessary to detect
[and/or install] a common Glib (not GTK) installation, then we
may try to use it in future releases.

    Hope this helps a little,
