Sorry if this question is closed...
I found adding ttf fonts to Abiword (old version 1.0.7) on
Mandrake 7.2 quite straightforward.
First I copied the relevant files *.ttf into the
/usr/local/AbiSuite/fonts
directory (of course this might be different for you).
And created a fonts.dir file in the same directory
I also had to $ chmod a+w /usr/local/AbiSuite/fonts
Contents of my "fonts.dir"
6
arial.ttf -ttf-Arial-regular-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-1
times.ttf -ttf-Times New-regular-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-2
timesbd.ttf -ttf-Times New-bold-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-2
timesbi.ttf -ttf-Times New-bold-i-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-2
timesi.ttf -ttf-Times New-regular-i-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-2
verdanaz.ttf -ttf-Verdana-bold-i-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso8859-2
Your fonts might not be central european (so change to iso8859-1)
You can also put in more fonts if you must. See
http://urtica.linuxnews.pl/abiword_pl.html for a larger example
of fonts.dir (but you might not be able to use any of the other
info on the page).
Sorry if this is no longer relevant to abiword 2 or debian
(oh yes, I had to put a new entry in my x86config file - if you
get an error message ask and I will tell you what it is... this
is in the abiword documentation too)
