macrons

I teach Latin and have been using Tavultesoft's keyman with a Maori
language ttf to display macrons in MS Word. With AbiWord however I am
unable to display macrons. The keyman software is also not working with
AbiWord. Any advice at how I can write with macrons in AbiWord? I am
using Windows98 on a computer which the school has lent to me - so cannot
Linux it. My skill level at anything aside from installs and a little
coding is pretty low. I've searched the site for an answer, but haven't
found anything that I could make sense of to remedy my situation.
