margin size AbiWord 2.2.8

It seems that no matter what I use for a margin size, AbiWord sets the
margins as:
top and bottom to 1 inch
left and right 1.25 inches

Are there any issues with AbiWord 2.2.8 and RTF files (see below)?
I started with a template that I made from MSWrite (MSWrite uses a value of
500 for the margins).
I also tried 720, but AbiWord does not seem to recognize a specified margin
size.

BTW MSWord opens the document with correct margins.
