abi word 2.4.1for blind

good afternoon users

I just subscribed to find out if I could use abi word 2.4.1 with software
for the blind

my computer details
amd 64 bit processor 2.8 ghz running windows xp pro 32 bit operating system

running software for the blind
jaws version 7.0

I installed abi word and can navigate all the English help files and all the
menus including the dialogue boxes filleting them out.

however I cant get my pc cursor with JAWS to track document contents or the
about screen showing version numbers.

I have to go in to review mode with the JAWS screen reader.

I cant get the voice to speak when moving with the arrow keys or page down
etc to read the document.

I have not succeeded in getting abi word for MAC working with Voice over in
MAC OSX v10.4.3 as yet.

The language or screen info is inaccessible.

I am looking for alternative to Microsoft word on the PC

if ABI word uses JAVA we will have a problem with access
if we cant solve the problem with using abi word with the screen reader on
the windows box I will unsubscribe from your mailing list and wont annoy you
further.
