Page numbering in Table of Content?

I've created a document with an automatically-generated Table of
Contents on the first page. There is a page break immediately following
the table of contents, so the main content of the document begins on the
second page. I also have page numbers automatically set to populate in
the footer... the table of contents page shows up as page "1", the
second page shows up as "2", and so on.

However, I notice that the page numbering is off in my table of
contents. The first content section, which actually begins on page 2,
shows up in the table as page 1. This carries forward, meaning that
every page is actually one page higher than what appears in the table of
contents. It is as if AbiWord doesn't consider the table of contents
page to take up a page number when it's building the table of contents,
although it DOES consider that page to take up a number when it's
automatically including page numbers in the footers.

Is this a known issue, or is perhaps expected behavior and I need to
do something on my end to make it work as I'm expecting it? Thanks in
advance!

Steve
