list config for gmane?

         I find it far more convenient to read lists like these --
what I can of them, since 99 44/100% is over my head -- on gmane.

         The usual method is to subscribe (in order to be able to
post), set the subscription to nomail (to save filling up the email
inbox), and then use your favorite newsreader (Pan for me) against
news.gmane.org.

         But I don't see a way to set either subscription to nomail.

         Is there one?
