AbiWord's mail merge will work with spreadsheets saved as .csv

Apart from SVG (which has some support on unix), what image formats are
you wanting?

With AbiWord 2.4 we now import ODT. Rumour has it that we will have
export also in the near future; until then, we recommend using RTF as a
portable format.
