>>>Hi, I only just found out about AbiWord and just downloaded it today, so sorry if this is a stupid newbie question. How do I enter special characters outside the Basic Latin and Latin-1 character blocks? When I go to the Insert menu and select Character, I'm only given a choice of characters up through thorn, even for fonts that have characters beyond that. Isn't AbiWord Unicode-compatible?

As I said, if I go to the Insert menu and select Character, I'm only given a selection of characters from Basic Latin and Latin-1, even for huge fonts like Arial Unicode MS and Code2000. Did I maybe download the wrong version? (I have 2.4.1.)

Hmm, that is the latest version, and it should work. Please file a bug
at bugzilla.abisource.com.

There are some serious issues with smart quotes, namely that they do not
currently work. See http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=8629
and possibly http://bugzilla.abisource.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1845 - feel
free to add yourself as a CC to those bugs.

Small caps I believe is something that would be implemented as a font
style. We do not currently have an option to simulate it - you could
file an RFE (feature request) at bugzilla.abisource.com

Thanks for using AbiWord!
