I can confirm this peculiar closing behaviour of AbiWord 2.2.9 under
Win98SE. If I just launch Abiword and immediately close 'Untitled1',
Abiword will pop up the save dialogue. Then if I say 'no', Abiword
closes 'Untitled1 and creates 'Untitled2'. This blank document and any
next one I can close without the save dialogue popping up. However, if I
myself then create a new document (Ctrl + n) (note: new window) and
close immediately, again the save dialogue comes up.
I have been messing around for some time now to try to find a solution
but have not. In any case Abiword 2.2.8 and 2.2.7 did the same, but when
exactly this glitch started I cannot recall: I have been using Abiword a
long time :-).
All settings in Abi are default. The only other Abiword I use (2.2.9,
Linux Zenwalk, kernel 2.2.6) does not react in the same way.

Cheers,
Gerard
