         OK, I got the tarball -- but I for one am the opposite of
comfortable with tarballs. If we wait, will there be an rpm? (Or if
we're lucky or very patient, maybe one in a yum repository for
whatever distro we run? -- yum update abiword doesn't do anything,
yet ...)

         If not, just for starters, where do we unpack the tarball?
