It is always recommended for AbiWord to uninstall your old version (and
any plugins) before installing your new version. This will not corrupt
your settings or your data files.

There is no direct link, but you may attach files created in AbiWord
from within your email program through the normal method (Attach button
in Thunderbird, haven't used Outlook Express in ages) - note that when
sharing documents, RTF (Rich Text Format) is recommended.
If you are unsure as to where your documents are saved, check first in
the My Documents folder. If they are not there, then go into AbiWord
and choose Open, then select any document in the window, right-click it,
and choose Properties. The containing folder should be listed there.
