abiword does not convert dashes (hyphens) properly??

Hi,

I have noticed that when turning a Word doc into HTML (via command
line conversion), abiword does not at all convert the different kinds
of dashes. Word has 3 kinds of dashes: short, medium, and long - short
being one -, long being two -, and I have no idea how you get medium.
In any case, Abiword turns short and long dashes into a single -, and
it *erases* medium dashes altogether!

Does anyone know if there is something I am missing? Is this a bug in
Abiword (I have found at least one other) or are there some conversion
options I am missing? It's quite an impediment to my use of abiword
since I work for people who really really care a LOT about the style
of a dash (sigh).
