Giving up on Abiword

I use lots of packages. Most of them, the sensible ones, have the option of a
simple tarball. And most of them either don't use gnome libraries or include
them in the tarball.

When I create a new Slack partition those package not included with Slack have
to be downloaded and reinstalled.

Unfortunately Abiword fails both of the above tests. The Powers That Be may
assume that the Autopackage routine is the greates thing since jellybeans but
others assume that CMake is the wave of the future and so on. And the
Abiword print routines require some fancy footwork with Gnome packages. It
is not just a simple matter of installing a library or two.

If I ever get my Gentoo partition to work I may try again. I just wanted to
let the developers know that decisions like the above limit your user base.
OO is downloading as I write this.
