To the best of my knowledge, AbiWord does not include anything that
would be affected by US export control laws. The project is developed
by people both inside the USA and outside (largely the EU and
Australia). I don't know what you mean by "uses US technologies". It
certainly uses code that was developed by US citizens. It does not
contain any "encryption functions", unless you stretch its meaning to
include MD5 or CRC32 or something of that nature.
