newbie

Just thought i should introduce myself - joined today.

I've been an abiword user on and off for a few years. I always liked a
lot of things about Abiword but it didn't quite replace Lotus
smartsuite wordPro for my teaching preparation. WordPro even though
outdated still does tables better than other WPs. Openoffice is good
but a bit heavy for me... i like a app that is just sufficient for my
needs without having so much sophistication for things i never use.

Two years ago i became a Linux Ubuntu user and now only use windows to
drive a scanner and one app that can't be run on ubuntu. I'm now
totally converted to all things linux and so have also become
completely dependent on abiword for WP [pleased that the project
didn't close which i gathered was likely about a couple of years ago
or so]. Joined the group to learn from discussions and contribute when
i can.
