Hi, you might be interested to know that there is an abiword slackbuild at
slackbuilds.org plus all the req'd dependencies are there too:

http://slackbuilds.org/repository/12.2/office/abiword/

This is for the latest stable 2.6.6 branch. If you would like a slackbuild
for svn I have one on my site:
