Hi Randy, hi Martin,
thanks a lot for adding your - no, not only $0.02, but at least ¤1.00. ;)
At first, I am going to respond to Randy's suggestions:
>Abiword's list feature works on lists within the document (not the

>document as long as you've included headings in your document, and

These are the words that I myself was not able to find when I tried to describe what I am actually searching for. The decisive term is "entire": I am searching for a feature that lets me navigate quickly through the ENTIRE document, not only through a single list within a document.

I have always had an inexplicable averseness to the "Navigator"-Feature in Open Office. But I had not used oowriter for a long time (rather ooimpress). After Randy's suggestion, I tried out a current version of oowriter, and I have to admit that "Navigator" improved considerably as measured by my requirements. So, thanks to Randy for his advice (and especially for the link)!
However, I often have to use different computers and operating systems, and therefore I like applying portable versions of certain programs. Of course, there is a portable version of Open Office, too, but I prefer Abiword as it is lightweight and fast. Thus, I appreciate Martin's suggestion:

Thank you very much!
