Without some large changes to the way AbiWord handles fonts, TrueType fonts
will not be supported (for display or print). AbiWord has to print, and
it currently prints to PostScript documents (on Unix). Because X offers
no way of getting font curve data (or pure font file data) from the server,
we have to keep a local copy of the file. We do this so we can embed
the font into the PostScript output. Theoretically, you will see on your
screen exactly what will come out of a PostScript printer (or be rendered
to native printer output if you don't print to a PostScript printer directly).
That "Lucida Sans Unicode" was used in an example document probably means
it was created on a Windows machine, with the Windows version of AbiWord.
