I think footnotes might be something you want to sneak in befor the
1.0 release. Almost every WP since befor Star Writer has been able
todo them. Academic writing used to demand them (most of my profs
prefered citations with bibliographies at the end).

On the scale of complexity (and I'm saying this knowing very little
about the Abi code) it seems that footnotes could be implemented much
more easily than tables.

Anyway, I don't want to be rude or ungrateful for all you've all
worked on. Endnotes won't keep me from using Abi (I use it to make
fax cover sheets, about the only thing for which I use any WP).

Just thought I'd throw in another opinion.
