    I agree to that. This would be the way to go IMO.

    Installing the glib based plugins without glib actually installed should
    be avoided _at any cost_. Furthermore, telling the user to get glib 1st
    before installing abi or abi plugins is also NOT perefered. Most users
    would drop off at this point, really.

    If possible, _please_ go with Alan's suggestion.
