Thanks for those pointers. (I hadn't heard of Dogtail before, but I
had heard of the similar package LDTP.)
Thanks also to Marc for the pointer to the abi-regression report,
which looks like a very nice test of the input and export filters.
Since my goal is to test the Windows version of Abiword,
the Gnome tools aren't going to help my particular need.
And since I want to test the UI widgets, I think AbiCollab
won't quite do what I need, either.
If I do anything, it'll either be a simple set of scripts that
use some existing open source test framework like CxTest,
or a standalone opensource C program that sends Windows events to
AbiWord, or some combination. (The latter might fit into
your build & test environment more easily -- cxtest has some
surprising dependencies :-) Whatever I do will be a simple
proof of concept just to see if it's practical.
