First, let's keep some perspective. AbiSource is continually getting
better with every release, yet there is much to be done.
Your examples illustrate why fields are being used. A field will allow
much more flexibility for the addition of features such as this rather than
hard coding various page number schemes. If you really want to accelerate
this development, convince people you know to get involved in the
development effort.
