Umm Yes! Your problem was not with abiword but with the fact that gentoo
did not provide all the source tarballs and build magic you need to build
abiword.
I imagine the email dialog on gentoo listserv would have gone something
like this....
you> Help! gentoo does provide what I need to import word perfect docs!
gentoo_guro> Bugger! We're screwinmg our users by not providing the
software gentoo_guru> they need. Who is charge of abiword builds? Ah it's
Mr "Gentoo_abiword". OK Michael send "gentoo_abiword" an email stating
exactly your problem.
<Micheal sends gentoo_abiword a polit email stating the problem>
gentoo_abiword> Oh I forgot about word perfect import, OK lemme fix it.
gentoo_abiword> Should be ready in a day or so...
1 Day later gentoo is updated. Micheal get's word perfect import, gentoo
is fixed for everyone else.
Everyone wins.
Cheers
