That's weird, it should give something like:
$ enchant-lsmod
aspell: 'Aspell Provider' (/usr/lib/enchant/libenchant_aspell.so)
myspell: 'Myspell Provider' (/usr/lib/enchant/libenchant_myspell.so)
ispell: 'Ispell Provider' (/usr/lib/enchant/libenchant_ispell.so)

Dom, do you know how to debug this?

If English is your language setting, then you have the right packages
installed afaik.

Ok, so 2.0.6 is a mandrake 9.2 package then. But I think the problem is
in enchant.

The package repository of Charles Edwards is urpmi-able, which makes
installation easier. But basically you need the libwv package from that
same website.
