    I've installed only the default plug-ins, which do not include the WP
    importer. Is not Abiword able normally to open ascii files? In fact, it
    opens them fine--the problem is only when they contain ascii symbols
    inserted from a table of additional characters. Sorry if I'm explaining
    this badly.
