It cannot be done directly, however you can use the Abiword LaTeX export
(not all features are supported by the LaTeX exporter) and then use
latexpdf to convert to PDF with hyperlinks intact. (And I see you are
using KMail so you must be using some kind of Unix like system where
getting latexpdf shouldn't be a huge problem.)

It was what I used, but I was more concerned about having hyperlinked PDF
than any other formatting.
